Traditional craft villages
(Incense village, Conical village, Sculpture village, Lacquer village, Silk village)
If you are a lover of traditional art, you cannot miss our tour.
Hanoi has dozens of craft villages on the outskirts (formerly Ha Tay). During this trip, you will explore the following locations:
1. Incense village
This is where incense is produced for worship. Each household will produce millions of incense sticks every day. You will be able to see the incense making process, including many stages, including using hands and machines.
The tour includes visiting fees and taking photos at the artist’s house with the most beautiful scenery in the village.
2. Hat village
Hats are popular items for workers in Vietnam. You can see images of hats and ao dai anywhere. Now you can visit the hat making village with your own eyes and see the diverse hat designs.
3. Sculpture village
Asian culture favors statues with many different meanings: Buddha statues bring peace, Maitreya statues mean wealth and prosperity, Dragon statues mean development, Horse statues mean courage, loyal….
You will be able to admire the statue-sculpting process of skilled artisans with expensive works.
4. Silk village
Van Phuc is the oldest famous silk village in Northern Vietnam. The silk here is very beautiful, soft, cool, and reasonably priced. Here you will also visit the local temple and see the silk fabric production process.
5. Lacquer village
Vietnamese lacquer has a long tradition and expensive products. You will visit the home of the most famous artist in the lacquer village, experience a class in inlaying eggshells onto lacquer plates, and receive products to take home (included in tour price). It will be a unique souvenir!
